Ivy is a team-up support with a surprising amount of disruption. Her whole kit amplifies an ally: Kudzu Connection tethers her to a teammate so that both gain fire rate, bullet lifesteal, and replicated healing — every heal Ivy receives, her tethered ally gets a share of too. She stops enemy pushes with Entangling Thorns, and when a fight turns she can Stone Form to stun a clump of enemies and heal herself, or grab a teammate and Air Drop them into or out of a fight. Ivy is one of the most mobile heroes in the game — her innate reduces her gravity, and Air Drop is a flying repositioning tool — which means she can be wherever her team needs her. Play her as a second support who sets up plays, not as a frontline.
Strong vs: Ivy punishes grouped-up enemies and any team that wins by sustained pressure rather than burst. Entangling Thorns and Air Drop both scale with how many enemies are caught, so death-ball compositions walk into her best tools. She is also strong against dive compositions, because Air Drop can simply remove the target the dive was built around, and Stone Form drags airborne heroes back to the ground. Her replicated healing out-sustains poke-heavy lanes and makes a farmed carry extremely hard to finish.
Weak vs: Ivy's weakness is that her value depends on her teammates being alive and worth supporting. If her carry is dead or behind, Kudzu Connection has no good target and her damage alone cannot win a fight. Long-range burst that kills her tethered ally before she can react gives her trouble, and any silence or stun that lands on Ivy herself can stop her from Air Dropping out. Slowing Hex disables Air Drop outright, so heroes who build it can shut down her most important ability.
Kelvin is a supportive frost hero who slows and damages the enemy team while healing, protecting, and speeding up his own. He lays Ice Path under his feet so he and his allies move faster across the map, then uses Frost Grenade and Arctic Beam to chip away and slow whoever he catches. Frozen Shelter is his panic button and his playmaker: an ice dome that rapidly regenerates allies inside while slowing enemies trapped with them. He wants to sit in the middle of the fight, healing and slowing, not solo diving. Play him patient and team-first, and he turns ordinary skirmishes into one-sided fights.
Strong vs: He shines against heroes who rely on sustained damage and mobility, because his slow stacks and Frozen Shelter blunt both. Arctic Beam's fire-rate and move-speed reduction hurts auto-attack carries who need to stand and shoot. Ice Path's slow resistance alongside the team speed-up helps him escape and chase heroes built around slows. Against clustered teams, Frost Grenade plus the dome turn their grouping into a weakness.
Weak vs: He struggles against heroes who burst him down before he can heal or dome, because his value ends if he dies first. Long-range poke and heroes who punish him for standing still during Arctic Beam hurt him, since he moves slower while channeling. Silences and hard crowd control that stop him from casting Frozen Shelter strip away his team's best save. Hard-engage heroes who dive past his slow and lock him up can delete him before the dome ever goes down.
Kelvin has the larger base health pool at 880, compared to 755 for Ivy.
Kelvin has the higher weapon DPS at 70.857, versus 60.542 for Ivy.
Neither hero is strictly better — they fit different roles. Ivy is a Marksman and Kelvin is a Brawler, so the right pick depends on your team composition, the enemy draft, and which playstyle you are comfortable with. Check the win rates on our tier list for the current patch.
