A strong duo isn't just two carries hoping the enemy dies first. It's one hero enabling the other — a stun into burst, a heal into a front-line trade, a shield into a free farm window. In Deadlock the lane and the mid-game fights are usually decided by pairs whose kits cover each other's weak moments, not by raw individual skill.
Key points: The simple rule: one of you enables, the other converts; Ivy + Haze; The payoff comes once Haze has items online.
The simple rule: one of you enables, the other converts. If your partner stuns, roots, tethers, or heals, the other should have the damage to cash that opening in. Below are six duos that do exactly that, with why the abilities slip together and how to actually play them. Pick a partner, check their hero pages, and lock in.
Ivy + Haze. Ivy turns a fragile assassin into a farming monster. Her Kudzu Connection tethers Haze, giving both of them fire rate, bullet lifesteal, and replicated healing — a share of every heal Haze takes is fed back to Ivy and vice versa. That tether keeps Haze topped up while she stacks Fixation in close range, and it means she is rarely caught alone with no answer.
The payoff comes once Haze has items online. Haze opens with Smoke Bomb and a Sleep Dagger to knock a target out, and Ivy's Entangling Thorns slow plus Stone Form stun keep that target from reacting. If the dive goes bad, Air Drop lets Ivy grab Haze and fly her out of danger. Very few heroes are harder to punish than a Haze with a healer glued to her.
Kelvin + Abrams. The classic front-line-and-sustain pairing. Abrams walks in first with Siphon Life draining everything around him and Shoulder Charge dragging one enemy into a wall for a stun. Kelvin follows right behind, healing through that trade with Frost Grenade and capping the fight with Frozen Shelter when the enemy commits.
The complement is obvious once you see it: Abrams wants long, messy fights, and Kelvin is the hero who makes long fights winnable. Abrams pins a target with charge, Kelvin's Ice Path closes the gap for the whole team, and the dome regenerates Abrams while it slows everything trapped inside. Neither hero survives that deep alone — together they hold the space.
Rem + Wraith. Rem's heal is the strongest in the game, and Wraith is exactly the kind of burst assassin who needs a safety net. Wraith does her damage in one scary window — Full Auto, Card Trick, and a Telekinesis pickup — and she is vulnerable the moment Telekinesis and Project Mind are spent. Rem's Tag Along leaps onto her, heals her, and makes them both untargetable while she repositions.
Wraith provides the kill; Rem provides the second kill in the same fight. Where a lone Wraith has to back off after one pick, a Wraith with Rem behind her can hold an angle and go again. Landing Pillow Toss also cuts Rem's cooldowns, so his save is coming back sooner than the enemy expects.
Vindicta + Abrams. Vindicta wants distance and a target too busy to look at her; Abrams gives her exactly that. He Shoulder Charges in and forces the enemy to respect the front line, while Vindicta holds the edge of the fight and lines up Assassinate. Nobody peels to chase a sniper when there is an Abrams in their face.
The pairing is all about patience. Abrams creates the chaos, Vindicta farms it — Crow Familiar to bleed and shred resistances, Stake to pin a target in place, then a fully charged Assassinate on whoever drops below half health. Play the lane as poke-and-punish and save the all-in for when both ultimates are up.
Kelvin + Haze. If you want a duo that goes from a calm farm lane into a monster late game, this is it. Kelvin heals with Frost Grenade and slows anyone trying to contest Haze's farm, while Arctic Beam cuts an enemy's fire rate so Haze wins the close-range trade. In fights, Frozen Shelter gives her a protected pocket to shoot from.
Haze's Sleep Dagger is the setup that ties it together — she knocks a target out, Kelvin's kit keeps her alive through the follow-up, and Fixation stacks into a Bullet Dance finish. It is a patient, low-risk lane that punishes anyone who tries to bully a frail carry off her farm.
Rem + Abrams. For players who want to brawl and never back down, Rem turns a durable tank into a genuinely unkillable one. Abrams front-lines with Siphon Life healing himself for the damage he drains, and Rem's Tag Along adds a second burst heal exactly when his health bar dips — the one moment Abrams actually dies.
This duo simply out-sustains. Enemy teams have to commit everything to kill Abrams, and Rem makes that commitment look foolish. When they finally overextend, Seismic Impact slams the whole fight and Tag Along keeps Abrams upright through the follow-up. It is not flashy — it just wins the long game.
Duos are only half the story — coordination and rank matter just as much. If you want a partner who actually complements your hero, try our duo queue and read up on the rank system so you know what you are climbing for. Jump into the Discord, find your lane partner, and start winning the pairs.
